Polish the stars…

Somebody has to go polish the stars,
They’re looking a little bit dull.
Somebody has to go polish the stars,
For the eagles and starlings and gulls
Have all been complaining they’re tarnished and worn,
They say they want new ones we cannot afford.
So please get your rags
And your polishing jars,
Somebody has to go polish the stars

Inky note:  It was a same-o day.  The grand babies are dreaming mounds beneath quilts, the house is quiet and, quiet.  A fire is flickering, my fingers dancing on a keyboard working on the babies Christmas fairy tale.  Above rain falls on the tin roof, as the cat snores upon my lap, and a hot toddy steams by my elbow.

My baby granddaughter drew her first picture today.  My oldest granddaughter won an art contest, while my only grandson informed me that although he will take care of all his sisters, and female cousins; He will live in the big house he is sure his future wife will want.  He’ll stuff all the girls in the small.   They can call him if they need something.

‘Someone has to go polish the stars…’?  Here they already did.
